Temps near 80 with slight chance of rain this afternoon

Above average temperatures will continue to persist into the weekend. Some isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, primarily across southern Missouri this afternoon. Our next chance for thunderstorms will be late Friday, in the evening into the overnight hours. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 81. East wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 59. East northeast wind 3 to 6 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 84. East southeast wind 5 to 8 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. East wind around 7 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Southeast wind 5 to 13 mph.

Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 76.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.
