CEDAR COUNTY — One person died in an accident just before 9a.m. Thursday in Cedar County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Chevy pickup driven by Phillip H. Smith, 77, Dadeville, was northbound on MO 215 four miles south of Stockton.

The truck traveled off the left side of the road, struck a fence and a tree. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
