KIRKWOOD, Mo. (AP) – A Lamborghini has erupted in flames at a Missouri gas station after a minivan driver pulled away from a gas pump with the nozzle still attached.
The pump in suburban St. Louis sprayed fuel into the Huracan Performante’s engine in Kirkwood, causing the blue Italian supercar to ignite. No one was hurt. Police have determined it was an accident.
Bystander Parker Gelber, who is a car salesman, wrote in a Facebook post that was driving a red Lamborghini and his friend the blue Lamborghini when they stopped for gas. He was paying inside the store and his friend was grabbing water when the vehicle that was worth more than $275,000 was destroyed. Another bystander captured the minivan driving off on video , but it doesn’t show the fire.
