St. Joseph Police are investigating after two separate shootings took place during the weekend.
According to Capt. Jeff Wilson with the police department, shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the area of 900 South 15th St. in reference to a shooting. Officers found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to his neck area. He was transported to the hospital with a life-threatening injury. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 16th and Faraon St. in reference to shots fired. Officers were redirected to the area of 200 South 15th St. where there was a 20-year-old woman with an apparent gunshot wound to her hand. She was transported to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. No arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
