NEOSHO, Mo. (AP) – A jury has convicted a Missouri man in the shooting death of an elderly man.

46-year-old Shannon Hensley was found guilty Wednesday of first-degree murder, robbery, burglary and armed criminal action involving the death of Nolan Karch. The 82-year-old was killed in 2016.

Aurora-Marionville police found items stolen from Karch in Hensley’s camper when they arrested him in January 2017.

Hensley says he didn’t have anything to do with the stolen items, which included a bicycle and a firearm.

Hensley alleged that co-defendant Kimberly Wright was responsible for Karch’s death. Hensley says Wright knew Karch and suggested stealing chainsaws from him. Hensley says she dropped him and another man off near Karch’s home, but that they never entered because it seemed like a setup.

Hensley will be sentenced at a hearing Oct. 9.
