JASPER COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 4:30p.m. Monday in Jasper County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Malibu driven by Alford P. Taylor, 78, was westbound on Route E three miles east of Carthage. The vehicle ran off the road and struck a fence.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
