RAY COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 10p.m. Friday in Ray County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Chevy passenger vehicle driven by Jeremy D. Novak, 34, Rayville, was westbound on 158th Street just west of Route Y. The vehicle crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side of the road, struck a mail box and ditch, overturned and hit a fence. The driver was ejected.

Novak was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Thurman

Funeral Home. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
