A winter storm continues to look possible Friday through Saturday. Right now, areas south of Highway 36 should see rain first, with it changing over to snow Friday night. For areas north of Highway 36, only snow is expected at this time. Difficult travel conditions are possible during this time, including the Friday PM commute. It is also going to be windy, which could cause some blowing snow across the area. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Friday: A chance of rain and snow before 4 p.m., then rain between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., then rain, possibly mixed with snow after 5 p.m. High near 34. East southeast wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday Night: Snow. Low around 19. Blustery, with a north wind 17 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Saturday: Snow likely, mainly before 7 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 20. Blustery, with a north wind 14 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
