Kathy Sue Hull
1954 – 2019

Kathy Sue Hull 64, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 at Mosaic Life Care.

She was born December 3, 1954 in San Angelo, TX, daughter of the late Ethel and Clyde Jones. She worked at Benders and Tiffany Square in Dietary, and she was a home health care giver. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and ceramics. She was a member of the Pentecostal of St. Joseph Church.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack, Jerry, Bob, and Larry Jones.

Survivors include: husband, Gary Hull of the home, son, Jeremy (Tiffany) Hull, daughter, Margie Hull, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brother, Phillip Jones, and sisters, Patricia, Jeannie, Rosemary, and Connie.

Funeral Services: 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Rupp Funeral Home, Rev. Rex Arbuckle officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. William Richard LeRoy Crabtree
1925 – 2019

William Richard LeRoy Crabtree 93, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital.

He was born April 14, 1925 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Ethel and Vernon Crabtree. He graduated from Lafayette High School, and he served in the United States Army, a veteran of the World War II, and a recipient of the Purple Heart, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. He recently flew to Washington D.C. and participated in the Honor Flight with son David. He worked at Lawhon Construction as a Millrite, and he was a member of the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed model air planes, woodworking, welding, show horses, and he was a great artist. He also spent 20 years at flea markets with a funnel cake concession. William was a member of the Whitesville Masonic Lodge, past Master, Cosby Masonic Lodge #600 A.F.& A.M., Scottish Rite 32nd degree master mason, York Rite, Moila Shrine Temple, Zeredetha Lodge #189, Eastern Star, Pastor worthy Patron.

William was preceded in death by wife, Irma Jean Crabtree, his parents, and brothers, Tiny and Ronald.

Survivors include: daughters, Patricia Kay Harding, Saint Joseph, MO, Marilyn (Denny) Lynn, Eudora, KS, Terry Boyer, Avenue City, MO, Jaynie (Kevin) Dykes, St. Joseph, MO., sons, Raymond (Jane) Crabtree, Savannah, MO and David (Robin) Crabtree, Baldwin City, KS, brothers, Robert W. (Rose Marie) Crabtree, Seattle, WA, Edwin (Carol) Crabtree, St. Joseph, MO, Vernon (B.J.) Crabtree, Lampe, MO, sister, Louise Cross of St. Joseph, MO, 14 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral Services: 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Rupp Funeral Home, Rev. John Middleton officiating with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Hope Church, Cosby, MO. Donald Dean Long
1933 – 12019

Donald Dean Long 85, best known as Dean of DeKalb, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 in Saint Joseph, MO.

On March 8, 1952, he married Frances Louise Bunten known as Franke Lu. They were married 67 years. Dean was the son of the late Loren and Marie (Ford) Long, and had never lived more that four miles from the farm on which he was born July 2, 1933, except for the two years that he served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He was a Farmer who liked quarter horses, John Deere tractors, music shows and going to Branson. Dean was an active member of DeKalb Christian Church, and the South Side Rotary since 1979. He and Franke Lu had been members of the Hitch Hikers Camping Club, Good Joe Sam’s Camping Club, and Midwest Prairie Schooners Camping Club.

Dean was preceded in death by parents. Survivors include, wife, Franke Lu Long of the home, and a sister, Ramona Cowger, DeKalb, MO., and her family.

Funeral services: 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor David Jordan officiating,. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. For those who choose to do so, memorial donations may be left at the funeral home for the DeKalb Christian Church or DeKalb Homecoming association. Joshua Searcy
1978 – 2019

Joshua Searcy, 40, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at University of Chicago Hospital. Josh received a heart transplant two years ago. He fought until he had no more fight left.

Josh was born April 4, 1978 in St. Joseph Missouri.

Josh worked for Vanguard Airlines then went on to become Regional Manager for Allegiant Airlines.
Josh enjoyed traveling, going to the lake, boating, skiing and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Josh loved his son Bryson dearly and his nieces Olivia and Avery were his love bugs!

Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Helen Cox and Gerald Searcy.

Survivors include his son, Bryson Searcy (Breanna Becerra); parents, Brad and Melinda Taylor, Jerry and Lori Searcy; brother, Noah Taylor (Amanda); nieces, Olivia and Avery Taylor; grandparents, Mary Searcy, John and Shirley Taylor, and a number of other loving relatives and close friends.

A service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, with visitation Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
