NODAWAY COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 3p.m. Sunday in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Buick Skylark driven by Jimmy A. Lake, 50, Maryville, was southbound on U.S. 71 four miles west of Barnard. The driver lost control of the vehicle. It traveled off the left side of the road over an embankment and struck a concrete culver.

EMS transported Lake to Mosaic Life Care in serious condition. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
