ST. JOSEPH – Missouri Western men’s golfer Patrick McCarthy was named Male Student-Athlete of the Year and Griffon women’s golfer Shi Qing Ong was named Female Student-Athlete of the Year at the 20th Annual Golden Griffon Awards presented by News-Press NOW.

In its second decade, the awards show was hosted at the historic Missouri Theater in St. Joseph. The pair of Griffon golfers claimed top honors among 13 total nominees for male and female student-athlete of the year.
