Spring commencement ceremonies for both Missouri Western State University and Northwest Missouri State take place this weekend.
The Spring Commencement Ceremony for more than 500 graduates of Missouri Western will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday on Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium.
According to a press release, in the event the ceremony can’t be held outdoors because of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. inside the Looney.

Northwest expects more than 1,000 students to receive degrees at its spring commencement ceremonies.
According to the university, the ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. Friday in Bearcat Arena when Northwest confers bachelor’s degrees in its School of Education in addition to master’s and education specialist degrees.
The University honors bachelor’s degree candidates from the School of Communication and Mass Media, the School of Computer Science and Information Systems, the School of Agricultural Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Bearcat Arena. At 2 p.m., bachelor’s degree candidates representing the Melvin D. & Valorie G. Booth School of Business and the School of Health Science and Wellness will be honored.
