2 hospitalized after driver stops on U.S. 36 to let animal pass

DEKALB COUNTY — Two people were injured in an accident just after 7:30a.m. Friday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Saturn Ion driven by Candace L. Wilson, 31, Branson was eastbound on U.S. 36 at Southeast Reservior at Cameron. The driver stopped to allow an animal to pass. An eastbound 2014 Toyota Prius driven by David W. Justus, 53, Maysville, rear-ended the Saturn.

Cameron Ambulance transported Wilson and a passenger in the Saturn Logan Z. Lockhart, 22, Maysville, to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Justus was not injured. The occupants of the Saturn were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
