Temps near 80 with chance of rain and storms this afternoon

Widespread severe storms are possible beginning this afternoon and evening. Hazards include strong to damaging winds, large hail, and a possible tornado or two. Flash flooding is possible tonight into early Wednesday morning. Here’s the 7-day forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. High near 80. South southeast wind 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. Low around 64. South wind 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. West southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 10%.

Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. West wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. West wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
