BaconFest St. Joe, Mo., is right around the corner and the BaconFest team is gearing up for the events leading up to the event. Later this month, tickets for admission to BaconFest will go on sale. Be sure to check the Facebook page and St. Joseph Post for details. The Dream Factory of Northwest Missouri will be receiving a donation from the event and they will also make a presence at BaconFest.
Currently, people who live in Missouri and Iowa search more on google about bacon than in any other state. Their searches populate funny bacon memes, pictures and quirky recipes with bacon. Each booth space is required to bring 2,000 bite-size samples to ensure that majority of the guests are able to have a bacon sample at each booth located at the event. Apple Market donated a TON of bacon for the event, literally 2,000 pounds and each booth will receive a minimum of 15 pounds of bacon prior to the event to help aid in preparing samples.
Harley Davidson is hosting the Bacon Queen and King competition at their location on Saturday, September 20, 2014. The winners of this competition will be the BaconFest Queen and King and will have a coronation during BaconFest on September, 27, 2014 at the Civic Arena.
There will be two bands performing at BaconFest St. Joe, Mo. The local band, Tequila Mockingbird, and Kansas City resident, True North, will take the stage from 1 to 5 p.m. During the break of the performances between the bands we will host the coronation of the King and Queen and have a bacon eating contest as well. Details on how to enter the bacon eating contest will be announced at a later date.
