Driver hospitalized after car hits MoDot sign

GALT- A Missouri man was injured in an accident just after 5 a.m. on Thursday in Mercer County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Brian D. McDonald, 38, Galt, was northbound on Route J ten miles north of Galt.

The driver failed to negotiate a right hand curve. The vehicle struck a MoDot sign, traveled across a grass median, continues across Route JJ and struck an embankment.

McDonald was transported to Wright Memorial Hospital.

The MSHP reported he was properly restrained at the time of the accident.
