Local celebrities will once again team up to raise money for Special Olympics. They’ll gather for the annual Celebrity Softball Game at Phil Welch Stadium, starting at 6pm Tuesday. The lineup will include some well known folks from city and county government, local television stations, and even the NFL.
The gates open at 5pm, with opening ceremonies slated for 6pm and the first pitch at 6:30. Admission is $4.
There’s also a special VIP arrangement, with special seats and refreshments served by volunteers for $20.
All proceeds will benefit Special Olympics of Missouri-North Area, to help pay for special athletes traveling to the State Fall Games in Jefferson City Next month. The North Area will have teams playing softball, flag football, bocce, golf and tennis. To donate or to get more information contact Melody Prawitz at (816) 233-6232 or prawitz@somo.org
