The Missouri Western women’s golf team finished in 9th place firing a two round total of 665 (336-329) at the Drury University Fall Shootout which was played at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar, Mo. The Griffons finished three strokes better than Southern Indiana (668) and 11 strokes back of Arkansas Tech for eighth. Shelby Stone was the top finisher for the Griffons firing a two round total of 161 (80-81) which put her in a tie for 24th place.
The winner of the event was California-PA with a 609 (302-307) which was three strokes better than host school Drury University, 612 (305-307). Western was the top finisher out of the MIAA as they finished 16 strokes ahead of Lincoln University (681) and 18 strokes ahead of Truman State (683).
The individual winner of the event was Dianne Luke of California-PA firing a 144 (73-71), five strokes better than Kayla Eckelkamp (149) of Maryville University.
Casi Webb fired a 166 (84-82) tying for 40th place while Natalie Bird shot a 168 (85-83) finishing in a tie for 47th position. Kristen Cooley (87-83) and Lauryn Huske Davies (95-93) finished firing a 170 and 188 respectively.
The Griffons return to action on Sunday, September 18 and Monday, September 19 when they participate in the CSP Wildwood Lodge Invitational in Lake Elmo, Minn. at Tartan Park Golf Club.
