Cameron Inmate Dies In Custody

Crossroads Correctional CenterAnother inmate at a prison in Cameron has died in custody.

According to an announcement from the Missouri Department of Corrections, Joseph Knecht was a 68-year-old man serving a life sentence for second-degree murder and armed criminal action from Jackson County. He was received in the DOC on June 25, 2001.

At 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, Knecht was pronounced dead of natural causes at the Crossroads Correctional Cente.
