Country Club Village audit report due tonight

Country Club Village HallThe politics in Country Club Village appear to be boiling over, again. Since the last election, the State Auditor’s Office has joined the fray, looking into the village budget over concerns about improper blending of certain tax revenue with the general fund.

The Auditor’s Office has scheduled public delivery of its audit report Wednesday night. Deputy State Auditor Harry Otto was expected to present the petition audit results at a meeting Wednesday night. That meeting is scheduled at 6pm, at John Glenn Elementary School.

Critics in Country Club claim the Board of Trustees is dodging questions about potential cuts in the village police budget. Those critics flocked to a board meeting on Monday night. The rumors continue to circulate, but there has, thus far, been no official action taken on the police budget.

On Monday night former board member Robert Haynes resigned his current position on the village’s Street Committee. Haynes publicly accused one board member of impropriety.

The politics in the village have been lively for quite some time. In September, Board Chairman Kent Shipley resigned abruptly.
