UAW Claims Claycomo Upgrade Could Idle Plant For 14 Months

Noting they’re aware of what’s being said about Claycomo, officials at Ford can not yet comment on any plans.

Officials restated their commitment to the promised 400 million dollar reinvestment and maintaining current employment levels, while adding a new vehicle to be built there.

They say they are simply unable to talk about what the new vehicle will be.

Because of that they can’t comment on the timing, length of retooling or any other details.

UAW officials have claimed the plant would be idled for up to 14 months beginning next April and some lower seniority workers could be forced to relocate out of state.

The company suggests that’s merely speculation on the part of the union.
