4 hospitalized after head-on Kan. collision

Screen Shot 2014-07-03 at 5.13.15 AMOLPE – Four people were injured in an accident just after 4 p.m. on Friday in Lyon County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Beau L. Clark, 32, Emporia, was northbound on Kansas 99 just south of Olpe.

The vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 1998 Ford F150 head on.

Clark, a passenger in the Pontiac Star A. Colston, 18, Emporia, the driver of the Ford Jeffery B. Mercer, 42, and Jerod Mercer, 18, both of Olpe were transported to Newman Regional Medical Center.

The KHP reported Clark and Colston were not wearing seat belts.
