Fire Inspectors for the St Joseph Fire Department say some leaves got too close to a meat smoker behind a house Sunday, sparking a fire that caused extensive damage when it spread to the porch.

The fire broke out Sunday afternoon at 1124 Corby Street. There were no injuries.

Officials say the family is getting assistance from the American Red Cross.
