A St Joseph man pleaded not guilty to murder charges stemming from a fatal shooting at a local bar.

Luis Alfredo Villegas-Rosa is charged with 2nd Degree Murder for the fatal shooting February 5 of John Baynham Jr. Police say the pair got into an argument at the First and Last Chance Bar at 1817 Garfield.

According to court documents, the defendant produced a handgun and fired three shots. Mr Baynham was killed.

Mr Villegas-Rosa is being held without bail in the Buchanan County Jail awaiting a trial setting June 18.
