
The Northwest Missouri State men’s tennis team dropped Thursday’s match against Division I member UMKC, 6-1, in Maryville.
The #19 Bearcats are now 12-6 on the year, while the Kangaroos improved to 12-11 this season.
The match was played using Division I scoring rules, in which the doubles matches are worth one total point.
After taking one doubles match to drop the doubles point, the Bearcats forced a pair of third sets, but were unable to seal victories in either match.
Alvaro Riveros came away with the lone singles victory, a 6-3, 7-6 win in the third position.
