
The Northwest Missouri State University men’s tennis team claimed the 2015 MIAA Tournament Championship on Sunday with a 5-0 victory over Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
The win moves Northwest to 18-6 overall while UNK falls to 20-4.
Northwest, who won the outright MIAA regular season title, claimed its sixth-straight tournament title and remains the only MIAA team to win the postseason tournament.
Under head coach Mark Rosewell, the Northwest men have claimed 12 regular season titles and six tournament titles.
The Bearcats claimed all three doubles points in dramatic fashion. Both the No. 1 and No. 2 teams were down a break but made a comeback to win in tiebreakers.
