She was born March 19, 1950 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Shelby R. and Ora M. (Randall) Donahoo. She enjoyed cooking, family, especially her grandchildren, shopping, and she loved her cat Patches. Martha was a Christian. Martha was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Shelby L. Donahoo, Gene Donahoo, and Richard Donahoo and 2 sisters, Gladys Sherard and Goldie Donahoo. Survivors include, her husband, Jerry L. Townsend of the home, 2 daughters, Michelle (Mike) Davis of St. Joseph, MO and Stephanie (Thain) Eischeid of Omaha, NE, 4 grandchildren, Isaac & Gabriel Davis, Jared Townsend, and Logan Eischeid, 2 brothers, John (Viola) Donahoo of St. Joseph, MO, and Danny (Diane) Donahoo of Rosendale, MO, and a sister, Dolly Jackson of St. Joseph, MO.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Rupp Funeral Home with Rev. David Billingsley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. F. Virginia Swartz

3085763_wlppF. Virginia Swartz 93, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 at a health care center in Saint Joseph, MO. She was born October 4, 1921 in St. Joseph, Mo daughter of Ladislaus and Anna (Macewicz) Smygel. She worked at Armour and Swift Companies, retired from Chase Candy Company in 1975. She was a Committee Woman for the Democratic Party of the 9th Ward, Past President and 50 year member of the Entre Nous Club. She was member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Alter Society and sang in the church choir. She is a present member of the St. James Catholic Church and choir member. Virginia sang Polish songs at Christmas and Easter or whenever someone requested.
Virginia was a devout Catholic and once shook the hand of Pope John Paul in Poland while visiting there. She was a bowler and loved to dance the Polka and to travel. She also made the Polish nut bread (Povitica) at Holidays and she loved to go on bus trips to casinos.
Virginia was preceded in death by husband, Ronald Swartz, infant son, Joseph Swartz, one sister, Evelyn Ann Smygel. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (John) Clemens of St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Kathleen Young of St. Joseph, MO, son, Bernard (Patricia) Swartz of St. Joseph, MO, six grandchildren, Nicole Swartz, Natalie (Seth) Bryant, Nathaniel (Krystal) Swartz, Nolan Swartz, Lesley (Phil) Dormeyer, Dena (Steve) Roberts, and nine great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 am at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Evan Harkins, celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be 2:30 PM, Wednesday April 29, 2015 at the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Memorials are requested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Noyes Home for Children.

He was born November 8, 1958 in St. Joseph, Missouri son of Carol & Thomas Caw. He graduated from Lafayette High School. Mitchel retired from Camanche Construction. He was an independent contractor, outdoors man, general bad a_ _, and a Navy Veteran. Mitchel was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Robert Caw, a nephew, Ryley Pearl, and his grandmother, Margie Farrow. He is survived by wife, Lori D. Caw of the home, mother, Carol Caw of St. Joseph, MO., three daughters, Mitchele S. (Thaddeus) Hunt, St. Joseph, MO, Brandi C. (David) Ringer of Blue Springs, MO, and Faith E. (Johnathan Stout) Sybert of St. Joseph, MO, grandson, Ethan Cooper Caw, a brother, Steven Caw, St. Joseph, MO, two sisters, Kelli (Tom) Caw-Ingersol, St. Joseph, MO and Teri L. (Roger) Pearl, Savannah, MO, an aunt, Kari Farrow-Wolters and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Louise J. Eck
1923 – 2015

Eck, Louise 1Louise J. Eck, 92, Maryville passed away on April 24, 2015.

One of thirteen children, Louise was born on March 21, 1923 in Pierce City,
MO to Joseph and Anna Katzfey, who preceded her in death.

She married Clarence S. Eck on June 30, 1942 at St. Agnes Church on the
prairie near Sarcoxie, MO. They moved to Maryville in 1965.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 1997, son, Ronald
in 2001; and siblings, Emma Palmer, Marie Wormington, Leo, Clarence, Joe,
Francis, Edmund and Richard Katzfey.

Survivors include her children: Clarence (Nancy) Eck, Huntsville, AL; ,
Harold (Karen) Eck, Foristell, MO; Carolyn (Lyle) Burns, Bartlesville, OK; ,
Ken (Lori) Eck, Barnard, MO; Debra (Ted) Espey, Maryville; Pat (Ron)
Moore, Danville, IN; Kevin (Debbie) Eck, Lees Summit, Missouri; Karen
Ceperley, Ozark, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Ann Eck, Maryville; 18
grandchildren, 23 great, and 3 great-great grandchildren; and siblings: Anna
Mae Gruber, Bernadine Adamson, Bernard Katzfey, and Lawrence Katzfey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church at
11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, with family receiving visitors an hour
prior to Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to St. Gregory’s
School or Asera Care Hospice.

She was born May 14, 1921 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and Albrecht Art Museum. Betty owned Katherine?s Gift Shop and was head of the Mah Jongg tournament at the St. Joseph Country Club, which had been established by Mrs. Ford
She was involved in the St. Joseph Symphony and Community Concerts. Betty also worked at Preservation Inc. for three homes with Mrs. Ide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Killackey; parents, Louis and Margaret (Johnson) Pinkston; and son, John Killackey.
Survivors include son, Louis Killackey, St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Sean Killackey and Addie Monson (Josh); great-grandchildren, Jack and Sydney Monson and Brianne Killackey; and daughter-in-law, Linda Whitley.

Harold E. Shipman
1919-2015

Shipman, Harold Photo-editedHarold E. Shipman, 95, Kansas City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at a healthcare facility in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born December 7, 1919 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Harold married Margaret Elaine Hamer on April 8, 1939 and she preceded him in death in 1998.
He graduated from Benton High School Class of 1938. Harold proudly served in the Army Air Corps During World War II. He retired from Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad in June 1979 as Superintendent after 40 plus years. He later worked as the Director of Golf at the Windbrook Country Club.
Harold was a gifted athelete having played and excelled at both football and baseball in his younger years. He also loved to golf and especially enjoyed teaching it. He leaves behind a family he loved very much.
Mr. Shipman was also preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Elizabeth (Kerns) Shipman; and brother, Donald Shipman.
Survivors include daughter, Patricia Rae Hewlett; grandchildren, Lori Hewlett Schuetz (Jeff), Robert T. Hewlett III (Lesley Stipetic), Bradley E. Hewlett (Rebecca) and Christina Hewlett; sister, Geraldine “GiGi” L. Norton (Bob); Sister-In-Law, Nellie Shipman; and 7 great-grandchildren, Kaela, Shaefer, Jake, Max, Avary, Bobby IV and Stone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
