1982-2015

Shaw, Jody. obitphotoJody Marie Shaw, 33, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care.
She was born February 4, 1982 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She worked at SST for many years and later ran her own house cleaning service. Jody is now free from the torment that she endured during her life and is now free to rest peacefully.
Jody was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harvey Carter (Sybil); and paternal grandparents, Harvey Shaw Jr., (Jaunita).
Survivors include parents, Gary Shaw (Joan) and Phyllis Browns; sister, Jamie Croft (Cliff); children, Breonna Dysart and Addison Sollars; and paternal grandmother, Wilma Heller.

Marilyn L. Weir
1945-2015

Weir, Marilyn. obitphotoMarilyn L. Weir, 69, Maryville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care.
She was born October 20, 1945 in Maryville, Missouri.
Marilyn received certification as an EMT and a respiratory technician and worked at St. Francis Hospital and Nodaway County Ambulance in Maryville, Missouri. She retired from Kawasaki Motors after ten years.
She attended Laura Street Baptist Church and Bible study at the Autumn House and loved fishing with her grandkids.
Ms. Weir was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Juanita (Sweeten) Weir; son, Randy Bever; and sister, Sandra Jane Weir. Survivors include children, Rick Bever (Julie), Grant City, Missouri, Rhonda Vinzant (Mike), Maryville, Missouri, Shelly Steinman (Jim), Grant City, Missouri, Ryan Bever (Brooke), Savannah, Missouri, Shane Whited (Jeni), Burlington, Washington and Traci Williamson (Matt), Maryville, Missouri; grandchildren, Justin, Aaron (Zara), Taylor, Desi, Sarah, Hannah, Brandon, Heather, Shane (Ashley), Lacie, Brandon (Josie), Tiffany (Bryan), Ashley, Drew (Katie), Hilary (Kody), Shelby, Derrik, Trysten, Braeden, Gage, Cole, Kayla, Amanda, Alyssa, Kiernan, Kameron, Bailey and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Ja?Mar, Leila, Chance, Kayden, Bentley, Gage, Cadence, Kayden, Zoey, Cami, Macie, Jersey, Tate, Korbyn, Ava, Bridgett, Harper and Ashton; sister, Cheryl Auten; niece, Jaime Auten; great-niece, Aubrey; cousins, Curtis and Karen Lambert; and cat, Abby.

Betty L Poling
1939-2015
pic croppedBetty Lou Poling, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at a local hospital.
Betty was born March 21, 1939 to Frederick and Margaret (King) Kuehner in St. Joseph where she resided her entire life. She attended Lafayette High School and was an active member of Savannah Avenue Baptist Church. On October 8, 1955, she married the father of her children, Dallas Poling, and he preceded her in death in 1979. Betty worked many years as a seamstress, retiring from Lakeland Industries. Following retirement, she spent time volunteering. Betty was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved reading, working puzzle books and sewing. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Bill Kuehner, Fred Kuehner, and Jim Kuehner and his wife Judy.
Survivors include her children, David (Ardis) Poling, of Vibbard, Mo, Roger (Joyce) Poling, of St. Joseph, Peggy (George) McPherson, of Raymore, Mo, Kim (Randy) Miller, of St. Joseph, Brian (Tonya) Poling, of St. Joseph and Dallas (Tracie) Poling, of King City, Mo; sister-in-laws, Retta Kuehner of Oklahoma and Betty Kuehner of St. Joseph; twenty-one grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Savannah Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis DePugh officiating. Inurnment to take place at a later date in Ashland Cemetery.

Helen M. Leard
04/18/1924 – 04/29/2015

Helen M. Leard, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
Helen was born April 18, 1924 in Skidmore, Missouri to Russell and Hazel (Shipley) Stevens.
Helen married Ernie Leard in 1951. He preceded her in death April 13, 2000.
Helen was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Clarence Haggerty and sister, Annona Shanks.
Surviving family includes nieces, Pamela Meeks and Barbara Munsell.
The family expresses a special thank you to LaVerna Village of Savannah for their loving care.
Mrs. Leard has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Inurnment at a later date.

Judith A. Evans
1948 – 2015

Judith A. Evans, 67, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Diversicare in St. Joseph, MO. She was born on April 10, 1948 in St. Joseph, MO to John & Leveta (Propes) Penington.

Judith was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Judith was a dispatcher for Andrew County Sheriff’s Department for 18 years. She enjoyed ceramics and painting in her spare time. She was a member of Rosendale Christian Church.

Survivors include her mother, Leveta Penington of King City, MO; one son; James Evans of Savannah; two daughters, Jane Evans of Savannah and Judy “Little Jude” Cameron of Independence, MO, three sisters, Tina Bonwell of Cosby, Mo, Jan Chambers of Rea, MO, and Terri Strother of Madison, WI; four grandchildren, Wyatt Evans, Dalton Briner, Makaya Evans, and Jaydra Evans. She is preceded in death by her father and one brother John Penington.

Memorial Celebration of Life will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Rosendale Christian Church. Breit – Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. is in charge of local arrangements.
