Lack in Monarch Butterflies in northwest Missouri to be addressed in library workshop

monarch-699553_1280A workshop talking about the recent lack of Monarch butterflies in the area is planned this weekend in St. Joseph.

A program titled, “Where Have All the Monarchs Gone” will be held Saturday, May 9 at 10 am. at the East Hills Library.

The presentation will talk about the monarch population decline, milkweed habitat loss and how the public can assist.

The program will be led by Girl Scout Cadette Troop 8709 and will fulfill their requirements for a Silver Award Project.
