Three injured in I-29 crash

wpid-mshp-logo111.jpgThree people were taken to the hospital Saturday after a traffic crash on I-29.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol,the accident took place just after 7 a.m. Saturday on I-29 1 mile south of Faucett.  Crash reports said 44-year-old William Gortmaker of Omaha, Neb. was driving his 2011 Freightliner southbound on I-29 when he ran into the back of a motor home being pulled by a 1993 Nissan Pickup driven by 41-year-old Herbt Cruz of Nampa, Idaho.  The report said this caused all vehicles to travel off the east side of the roadway and hit the media cable barrier.

8-year-old Elijah Thomas, 37-year-old Heather Thomas, and 10-year-old Mattia Thomas all of Nempa, Idaho were passengers in the motor home and were taken by Buchanan County Ambulance to Moasic Life Care for treatment of minor injuries.
