Dorothy Ruth Hendricks 1926-2015

Hendricks, Dorothy Obit PhotoThe world has lost its brightest light. Dorothy Ruth Hendricks passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 6th surrounded by her family from an aggressive brain cancer.
Dorothy Ruth Bremicker was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Jun 19th, 1926. Fondly known as Brem, she was adored by many. She married Colonel James Hendricks and they enjoyed the Air Force life. Dorothy and Jim had two children, Sharon Lea and Michael.
Dorothy was the matriarch of her family. Her charismatic personality and contagious smile will be long remembered, by her friends and family throughout the many places she has lived.
Dorothy was amazing and beautiful in every way; her qualities were nothing short of magical. The essence of who Dorothy was lives in all of us who were lucky enough to know her. She influenced many lives until the day she passed and her wisdom and caring nature are really a part of everyone whose lives she has touched. She will be dearly missed but it is comforting to know that she is safely in heaven with her true love and soul mate.
The family will be holding a private service in Dorothys honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dorothy’s memory to the Friends of the Animal Shelter.

Madonna Turgon 1924-2015

Turgon, Madonna Obit PhotoMadonna Turgon, 90, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday, June 8, 2015 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born July 4, 1924 to Thomas and Cora Driskell in Blanche, Missouri.
Madonna married Chester Emil Turgon in August of 1951, he preceded her in death on October 29, 1992.
She was active in PTA and as a Cub Scout Den mother. Madonna was a member of New Testament Christian Church on Pickett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers and sisters; and infant granddaughter, Cora Lee Wilson.
Survivors include son, Norman Greg Turgon (Sandra), Lees Summit, MO; daughter, Debra McDowell (Tony), St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Allen Turgon, David Wilson, Gaytha Wilson; great-grandchildren, Brittny, Jordan, Luka, Lily, Brynn, Brecken, Elise, and Ethan; sister, Wilma Cowan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment 1:30 P.M. Friday, Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. William John Tunks II 1950-2015
Tunks, William Obit PhotoWilliam John Tunks II, passed away on June 7, 2015 at his home near Fairport, Missouri. He was born at home on the family farm on July 22, 1950 to Billy and Leona Tunks.John attended Fairport Grade School, graduated from Maysville High School, attended Missouri Western State University achieving a degree in computer science.He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Later Day Saint in St. Joseph. He worked for Missouri Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph and H & R Block in Kansas when he retired. John loved to do genealogy research about his ancestors and would willingly help anyone else interested in researching their family history.He was a gentle, quiet, private man, and enjoyed helping those less fortunate, especially the elderly. He was a member of the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution), Sons of the Confederacy and Union Veterans of the Civil War.He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Leona Tunks.Survivors include sister, Marilyn (Bernard) McMillen, St. Joseph, Missouri; brother, Gary (Barbara) Tunks, Biloxi, Mississippi; nephew, Scott (Debbie) McMillen, King City, Missouri, Eric (Kelly) McMillen, St. Joseph, Missouri, Joshua (Stacy) McMillen, Kansas City, Missouri, Jordan McMillen, St. Joseph, Missouri, Ethan McMillen, King City, Missouri, Gary James Kelly, Biloxi, Mississippi; nieces, Cindy (John) Kilgore, Cameron, Missouri, Kim Tunks, Maysville, Missouri, Jada McMillen, St. Joseph, Missouri; and many cousins.Farewell Services 1:00 P.M.
