A two vehicle accident in Andrew County Saturday sent two to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Maggie Orton, 24 of St. Joseph was driving her 2012 Ford Fiesta north on US-71 in Andrew County just after noon in the right lane and Dillon Smith, 23 of Savannah, Mo. was driving his 2014 Ford Focus in the Left Lane.  As Smith tried to pass the MSHP said Orton failed to yield when changing lanes and Smith’s vehicle hit the rear of Orton’s vehicle.

Victoria Orton, 46 of St. Joseph was a passenger in Maggie’s vehicle was transported by ambulance to Mosaic Life Care with Minor Injuries.  Smith was taken by private vehicle to Mosaic Life Care for treatment of minor injuries.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
