Saint Joseph police arrested a suspect in a residential break-in committed while officers were investigating an attempted burglary involving the same suspect.

Sergeant Brett Kelly says at about 10:30 Sunday night a man tried to break into a residence near 28th Street and 36 Highway.  Kelly says after the suspect left that residence he apparently tried his luck on another home nearby.  He woke up an elderly lady who ordered him out of her bedroom.  He left and she called police.

A short time later an alert citizen spotted a man who turned out to be the suspect and directed officers to his location.  The suspect was booked for investigation of burglary.
