Police identify suspects in Aquatic Park break in

St Joe Aquatic Park

Nine suspects now face municipal trespassing charges for an after-hours swimming party at the St Joseph Aquatic Center. Three of the suspects are juveniles, but police have now released the names of six others.

Police Commander Eric Protzman released the names of six adult suspects, taken into custody after they were caught inside the Aquatic Center shortly after midnight June 19.

They are Michael Bowen, 18; James Young, 20; Hunter Adkins, 18; Luke Watson, 17; Simon Yerganian, 17; and Gorge Portillo, 17. Commander Protzman says three underage suspects were also arrested. Two were 15 years old and one was 14.

Sergeant James Tonn said Friday a passerby reported hearing young people shouting and laughing in the park at 12:15 am Friday. Officers arrived to find some deck chairs in the pool but no damage.

Sergeant Tonn says the suspects tried to run but kept getting caught by the fences. Officers were able to corner them and make the arrests.  Officials originally said ten suspects were arrested, but officials now say that was incorrect.

The suspects face municipal trespassing charges.
