The St. Joseph Mustangs lost their second consecutive game Sunday night as they fell at Joplin 5-0.
It’s the first time St. Joe’s summer college baseball team has been shutout this season and just the second time they’ve lost two straight games. The Mustangs drop to 20-8 overall and 17-7 in the MINK League.
St. Joseph only had five hits in the game and seven total baserunners. They got singles from Jerry Houston, Ramsey Scott, Trent Hill, Francisco Alvarez and Tony Maselli.
The Outlaws scored single runs in five of the eight innings they hit in and they pounded out 10 hits in the game.
Logan Jacik suffered the loss as he falls to 1-1 this summer for the Mustangs. He allowed three runs and six hits in five innings of work.
St. Joseph is off Monday before playing a doubleheader at Chillicothe on Tuesday. The first pitch of game one is set for 5:30 p.m.
