Laura Christine Swartz 36, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday July 8, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph. She was born August 19, 1978 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of Diane & Gary Wells. She married Andrew Swartz on June 16, 2007 he survives of the home. She graduated from Benton High School, then attended Truman State University for one year and graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. She worked at Boehringer Ingelheim as a Microbiologist. She enjoyed music, reading books, loved her cats and all animals, she enjoyed volunteering at the Animal Shelter. Laura also loved to travel especially Europe and the all over the United States. Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents, Gene and Betty Wells, maternal grandfather, Enos Simerly, maternal grandmother, Maxine (Simerly) McQueen, father-in-law, Sam Swartz, aunt, Juanita Wells, and uncle, Albert Wells. Survivors include husband, Andrew Swartz of the home, her parents, a sister, Angela D. (Jack) Boatwright of Gower, MO, 2 nieces: Lydia and Emelia, 2 nephews: Jakob and Ethan, mother-in-law, Barbara Swartz of St. Joseph, MO, uncle, James (Judi) Simerly. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. She will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
