The Downtown YMCA was forced to close its doors after water was shutoff to the building for a short time Monday.

A water main break behind the building in the 300 block of S. 6th St. caused Missouri American Water to shut off water to the downtown facility.  The Y said the building was closed due to a lack of water around 9:30 a.m.

It reopened for public use at noon.
