A preliminary hearing was rescheduled for Tuesday for a St Joseph man charged with the death of his passenger in a crash in January.

Police say Daniel Maddock was under the influence when he ran a stop sign at 12th and Church streets January 3.

Richard Osborne was a passenger in Maddock’s vehicle. He was killed when they crashed into another vehicle. Mr Maddock was also seriously hurt.

Last week, Mr Maddock’s lawyer filed a motion for a new judge, which was granted. A probable cause hearing will be held before Associate Judge Rebecca Spencer. The defendant is being held under $60,000 bail.
