The St. Joseph Police Department is taking part in a national community building campaign this week.

America’s Night Out Against Crime will be held Tuesday, August 4. The National campaign is an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities.

Residents in St. Joseph will also have a chance to participate in the event. The Sherwood Park Watch Association will host the event at 29th and Edmond Aug. 4 starting at 6:30 p.m.

“This event is an opportunity for citizens to come together in a stand against crime,” The SJPD said on Facebook. “It’s also a chance to get to know the residents that live around you. Local law enforcement will be present along with other emergency responders.”

Employees of Target will be there with entertainment for the kids and hot dogs for everyone. Target is one of the main sponsors of National Night Out throughout the country.
