A man was arrested Thursday morning after police said he crashed a stolen vehicle into two stopped patrol cars.
According to Capt. Jeff Wilson with the St. Joseph Police Department, officers began investigating a report of a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning from the 5500 block area of King Hill.
“We had eyes on him and we thought we were going to be able to make an arrest at the time,” Wilson said. “The suspect that was trying to get away hit two of our police cars.”
He said the suspect ended up crashing the vehicle into the side of two police vehicles stopped in the area of East Hyde Park and South 1st street.
“I don’t know the extent of the damage but they’re damaged,” Wilson said. “They’re not out of service damaged, like done but they’re damaged.”
A 30-year-old man was taken into custody in the area of the crash. No injuries were reported.
