Teen dies in weekend crash in Worth County

wpid-mshp-logo111.jpgA 19-year-old was killed in a one vehicle crash in Worth County early Saturday morning.

Mitchell Charles of Grant City was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Pickup around 1:40 a.m. westbound on Mo-46 about 6 miles east of Sheridan when he lost control and went off the north side of the roadway.  According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol he over-corrected and crossed the center line then went back off the north side of the roadway and flipped the vehicle.

Charles was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene around 2:25 a.m.  Two passengers, 18-year-old Dustyn Raunch of Blockton, Iowa and 18-year-old Shelby Thomas of Sheridan, Mo. were taken by private vehicle for treatment.  Raunch was taken to SSM Healthcare with moderate injuries and Thomas was taken to SSM Healthcare with minor injuries.
