DWI Checkpoints planned in Platte County

Platte County Sheriff patch jpgCheckpoints to keep drunk drivers off roadways are planned in Platte County.

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday it plans to conduct sobriety checkpoints throughout the month of September.

“If you encounter a DWI Checkpoint the delay you experience will be brief,” said Sheriff Mark Own.

The department said if a driver is suspected of being intoxicated, he/she will be asked to complete the Standard Field Sobriety Tests. Any driver found to be impaired will be arrested and transported to the Platte County Detention Center.
