A Plattsburg woman was taken to the hospital with serious injures Tuesday and arrested after a crash in Clinton County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36-year-old Amber Summers was taken to Mosaic Life Care for treatment of serious injuries after a two-vehicle rollover accident just before 7 a.m. on MO 116 about 4 miles west of Plattsburg.
The patrol said Summers was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on MO 116 partially in the westbound lane when a 2011 Dodge Caliber driven by 38-year-old Amanda Donnelly of Lathrop, also traveling westbound hit the left front corner causing Summers’s vehicle to slide off the roadway on the north side. Summers’s vehicle hit a tree and rolled over. Donnelly’s vehicle skidded off the south side of the the roadway, into a cornfield and came to rest on its wheels.
Donnelly was taken by private vehicle to Liberty Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
MSHP online documents show Summers’s was arrested for second degree assault with a motor vehicle, felony no valid operator, careless and imprudent driving, exceeded speed limit going 78 in a 60, failure to register motor vehicle and no insurance. She was released to Mosaic for medical treatment.
