JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) – Officials are urging Missourians to start getting ready for snow and winter temperatures.
The state and the National Weather Service is recognizing Wednesday as winter weather awareness day. Officials say Missourians should make sure that fireplaces and generators are working properly and create a supply kit that they can keep in their cars. That should include a blanket, spare radio with batteries, snacks, jumper cables, flares, shove and sand.
Missourians also should have emergency supplies in their homes, including food, bottled water, flashlights and a first-aid kit.
