A teenager and an eight-year-old boy were injured in a rollover crash trying to dodge a deer in the roadway in Andrew County over the weekend.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the driver swerved to avoid the deer along County Road 322 about seven miles east of Fillmore, Missouri at about 11 p.m. Saturday. The pickup left the road, struck a ditch, went airborne and overturned.
The driver, 17-year-old Cole Englebrecht, of Barnard, was not wearing a seat belt. He was seriously injured in the rollover crash.
His passenger, 8-year-old Cooper Englebrecht, also of Barnard, was wearing a safety belt and suffered minor injuries.
Both were transported to Mosaic Life Care in St Joseph.
