The start of a 300-mile cycling ride will begin in St. Joseph next year.
Bike Across Missouri race, known as The Big BAM has announced its towns for the 2016 adventure. The noncompetitive ride will begin in St. Joseph and travel east stopping in Hamilton, Chillicothe, Brookfield, Macon and Shelbina until the event comes to an end in Hannibal.
Bikers will depart St. Joseph on June 12 traveling about 50 miles per day until the event comes to an end on June 17 in Hannibal on the banks of the Mississippi River.
Last year was the inaugural event and attracted around 1,000 bicyclists. The 2015 race started in Rockport and traveled through Maryville.
