PLATTE CITY, Mo. (AP) – A wallaby has been caught after escaping from his suburban Kansas City owners as they were feeding him his Thanksgiving Day “greens.”
A confused resident reported seeing a kangaroo hop past shortly before 10am. Authorities were soon hopping to reports that two of the animals were on the loose.
But it turns out there was just one runaway animal, a 4-year-old wallaby named Noah. Wallabies are smaller than kangaroos.
Now Noah is headed to the Kansas City Zoo while officials decide whether his owners can keep him. Platte City doesn’t allow residents to own exotic animals. The question for officers is whether wallabies are considered exotic animals.
