UPDATE: UNIONVILLE, Mo – Structural issues in a brick building at the corner of U.S. Route 136 and 16th Street in Unionville has prompted the closure of U.S. Route 136 between 15th and 16th Streets. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation are working with local emergency responders to divert traffic around the closure via 15th Street, Washington Street and 16th Street.
The highway will remain closed through the weekend due to the potential of falling debris.
Motorists will need to use an alternate route. Commercial vehicles, including oversized loads, will not be able to use the detour route and should find an alternate route.
Previously MoDOT had said a structure fire had taken place.
