Local attorney David Bolander has filed as a Republican candidate for judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit Court, Division 2, which covers Andrew and Buchanan counties.

Bolander said Weldon Judah, the current Division 2 judge, is retiring at the end of the year.

Division 2 is assigned family law cases as well as other civil and criminal matters.

Bolander is a partner in the firm Brage & Bolander, P.C.

“As an attorney I help people struggling through the challenges of divorce, addictions and abuse,” Bolander says, “and I seek to provide permanent, positive solutions for children in these difficult legal circumstances. Serving as judge would enable me to have an even bigger impact on children and families.”

The primary election is Aug. 2, and the general election is Nov. 8.
