Suspect arrested after head-on crash

MSHP badge goldA head-on crash in Clinton County Sunday night sent four people to the hospital including a two-year-old boy.

A crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates a pickup truck crossed the center line along US Highway 169 north of Grayson at 9:40 p.m. The truck hit a Nissan driven by Katie Steinle-Odell of St Joe.

The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries and was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was then arrested and placed under a 24-hour hold in the Clinton County Jail. The suspect faces possible charges of DWI, Careless & Imprudent Driving, and three counts of 2nd Degree Assault.

Crash and arrest reports identify the driver as 22-year-old Michael Pfeffer of Trimble, Missouri.

Three people in the Nissan were transported to Mosaic Life Care. Ms. Steinle-Odell suffered serious injuries, as did 29-year-old Randy Griffith of Cameron. His son, two-year-old Jace Griffith suffered moderate injuries.
